Beijing Association for Rehabilitation of Autistic
Children (BARAC), founded in December 1993, is
a registered non-governmental organization approved by
Beijing Administrative Office for Social Groups. The sole
purpose of BARAC is to help and show loving care for autistic
children and their parents. The leading group is composed
of Board of Directors with the president, Professor Yang
Xiaoling of Institute of Mental Health, Beijing University
at its core. BARAC is engaged in multi-dimension services
such as diagnosis, research, rehabilitation training,
and information consultation etc.
What has BARAC been doing?
Provide development assessment for early diagnosis
and early intervention;
Provide consultation and training (for children, parents
and professionals);
Promote information exchange and co-operation in this
field both abroad and at home;
Compile and publish Journal of BARAC and related publications;
Conduct liaison and information exchange activities;
Express the requirements and wishes of autistic children
and their families, and help them to protect their legal
rights and interests.
1) Who could join BARAC?
Any individual can apply for membership of BARAC provided
they admit and abide by BARAC constitution and regulations.
2) How to apply for the membership?
Send your Application to BARAC Office; fill in BARAC
Membership Application Form and pay membership dues
as required.
3) What rights are BARAC members entitled to?
Obtain BARAC Journals, related materials and information
free of charge;
Take part in activities of any kind conducted by BARAC,
such as conferences and other related services;
Supervise the work of BARAC.
4) What are the obligations of BARAC members?
Abide by BARAC constitution and regulations and execute
BARAC resolutions;
Give care to and take an active part in BARAC activities;
Pay membership dues as required.

The existence and development of BARAC cannot be achieved
without involvement and help of
warmhearted people from all walks of our society.
Whether earlier or later the action you take; whether
greater or smaller the contribution you make; only if
you make earnest efforts, the families with autistic
children will gain a bit more hope to rehabilitate.
